Seamatch CSR Policy

Seamatch is committed to building a recruitment business that people trust, respect, and feel proud to be part of, by balancing People, Planet, and Profit in a responsible and transparent way. With over 1,000 contract staff on our payroll, Seamatch sees CSR as central to how we work with employees, contractors, clients, suppliers, and the wider community.

Our CSR Vision

Seamatch believes that corporate success and social responsibility go hand in hand. CSR at Seamatch is about self-regulation, accountability, and making a positive impact on society through every aspect of our business.

Our CSR framework is built on:

  • The 3Ps – People, Planet, Profit (Community)
  • The four EcoVadis sustainability themes – Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement

Together, these guide how we design policies, make decisions, and measure progress over time.

Who Seamatch Is

Founded in 2003, Seamatch is one of Hong Kong’s leading professional recruitment consultancies, specializing in permanent, contract, and temporary placements, with a particular focus on the IT sector. Our clients include government and semi-government bodies, public organizations, listed companies, and major conglomerates.

With more than 1,000 contract staff across Hong Kong, our workforce is a sizeable community, and it is increasingly important for us to maintain a socially conscious brand and culture that both contract staff and clients can look up to.

EcoVadis Bronze Medal Recognition

In November 2025, Seamatch was proud to be awarded the Bronze Medal by EcoVadis, a globally recognised sustainability rating agency. This independent assessment acknowledges the strength of our sustainability management system and places Seamatch among the better-performing companies evaluated worldwide.

The Bronze Medal reflects our progress across four key themes:

  • Environment
  • Labour & Human Rights
  • Ethics
  • Sustainable Procurement

This recognition reinforces our 3P approach and motivates us to keep raising our standards, with a clear roadmap for further improvement in the years ahead.

Our CSR Commitments

People & Labour / Human Rights

Seamatch’s People pillar and the EcoVadis Labour & Human Rights theme are at the heart of our CSR. We believe that contract staff who share our values and can relate to our CSR initiatives are more likely to stay and grow with us, so we actively engage them in relevant CSR activities.

We are committed to:

  • Providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace for all staff and contract employees.
  • Strictly following all applicable Hong Kong Labour Department laws and regulations.
  • Upholding equal employment opportunities regardless of race, colour, sex, age, religion, national origin, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, disability, or other protected characteristics.
  • Complying with all laws concerning the employment of persons with disabilities and making reasonable accommodations where needed.
  • Maintaining a work environment free from harassment through a clear Anti-Harassment Policy.

To look after employees and contractors, we also:

  • Provide a medical scheme with outpatient services for all staff.
  • Offer a staff portal where employees can check leave status, access salary slips, and download tax reports.
  • Hold regular team gatherings to improve communication and teamwork.
  • Sponsor volunteering activities and community service.
  • Sponsor courses and activities that enhance work-life balance and accelerate career development.
  • Conduct regular internal training to ensure effective, ethical business conduct.
  • Run annual performance appraisals to support growth and quality.
  • Conduct annual employee surveys to identify areas for improvement.
  • Offer competitive remuneration and ensure prompt payment of salaries and bonuses.

Ethics & Responsible Profit

Under the Profit pillar and the EcoVadis Ethics theme, Seamatch is committed to doing the right thing, every time. Profit is seen as a way to sustain jobs, support families, and reinvest in our people and community – not an end in itself.

Our commitments include:

  • Conducting our business in a legal, ethical, and trustworthy manner.
  • Upholding a robust Code of Business Conduct and Ethics that prevents dishonest or unethical behaviour and promotes a culture of honesty and accountability.
  • Complying fully with all regulatory obligations and internal policies.
  • Protecting confidential information and handling data responsibly.

Looking after clients, we also:

  • Aim to be the best and largest provider of candidates and contractors to each of our clients in our chosen sectors.
  • Regularly communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction, improve service quality, align values and goals, and correct anything that goes off-track.

Planet & Environment

Under the Planet pillar and EcoVadis’ Environment theme, Seamatch recognises a shared responsibility to protect the environment, even as a service-based business with a relatively small carbon footprint.

We commit to:

  • Reducing environmental impact through waste reduction, reuse, and recycling.
  • Considering whether materials used in our business are recyclable or can be made from recycled content.
  • Monitoring water and electricity usage and avoiding unreasonable growth in consumption.
  • Encouraging greener transport through convenient office locations and smarter use of courier and logistics services.

Guided in part by the EcoVadis framework, Seamatch aims to set clearer environmental targets and track performance against them over time.

Sustainable Procurement & Supplier Standards

Aligned with the EcoVadis Sustainable Procurement theme, Seamatch recognises that the behaviour of suppliers is part of our overall impact.

We strive to:

  • Use high-quality, reputable suppliers and maintain constructive, transparent relationships with them.
  • Prefer local suppliers where possible, in order to support the local economy and community.
  • Pay all suppliers on time and maintain clear, proper communication.
  • Choose suppliers who are ethical, responsible, and have a positive social and environmental image.
  • Gradually integrate sustainability and CSR criteria into supplier assessment and selection, encouraging partners to adopt good ESG practices.

Community Engagement

Seamatch is deeply rooted in the Hong Kong community and is committed to supporting local initiatives and vulnerable groups. Our long-term engagement and recognition include:

  • Awarded “Caring Company” by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) for over 10 consecutive years.
  • Awarded “Good MPF Employer” by the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority in 2023 and 2024.
  • Received the “Certificate of Appreciation” from the Hong Kong Labour Department for supporting the “Work Orientation and Placement Scheme”.
  • Awarded “Good Employer Charter 2024” by the Hong Kong Labour Department.

These recognitions, together with the EcoVadis Bronze Medal, reflect our ongoing contribution to employees, the labour market, and the broader community.

Governance, Measurement & Continuous Improvement

CSR at Seamatch is a shared responsibility. Every staff member is individually and collectively accountable for upholding our commitments.

We will:

  • Regularly monitor and assess whether our CSR measures are effective.
  • Use external frameworks such as the EcoVadis rating and our EcoVadis scorecard as a roadmap for improvement.
  • Set progressively clearer goals across Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
  • Engage staff, contract employees, clients, and suppliers in our CSR journey and invite feedback.

By aligning our CSR with our mission, values, the 3Ps, and EcoVadis guidelines – and by building on the achievement of the EcoVadis Bronze Medal in November 2025 – Seamatch aims to remain an employer and recruitment partner that people can trust, respect, and grow with over the long term.
