Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day data centre operations as per established procedures.
  • Be the primary contact point for IT Service Desk after office hours.
  • Monitor to ensure proper functioning of hardware, software, and data centre facilities.
  • Work with hardware and software vendors on routine and emergency maintenance.
  • Perform services requests according to IT established procedures and complete within predefined timelines or services level agreement.
  • Perform related reporting, notification and escalation according to procedures.
  • Perform logging of events, documentation and other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure that data centre monitoring, operational and administrative tasks are carried out in accordance with established procedures, practices and service pledges.
  • Ensure that problem or system incidents are reported in accordance with established escalation procedures.

Requirements:

  • Form 6 or above with good pass in English and Mathematics.
  • Basic knowledge in computer studies is required.
  • Possess at least 3 years of data centre or computer room operations experience
  • Experience in SAP will be an added advantage
  • Good written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese).
  • Self-motivated and ability to acquire skills independently.
  • People oriented and teamwork centric.
  • Ability to apply specific operation knowledge/skills in daily work.
  • A good team player who embraces changes in a positive manner.
  • Be a proactive team member to deliver excellent IT services.
  • Be presentable and able to communicate well with internal users and external parties.
  • Be able to perform tasks management and prioritize on hand tasks.
  • Require to work on shift and roster will be assigned by HK Electric.  The roster is arranged based on the ratio of 6 days working and 2 days off.  The working hours of each shift are:
    • 08:00 – 16:00 (8 hours)
    • 16:00 – 23:00 (7 hours)
    • 23:00 – 08:00 (9 hours)
  • Require to work in data centre in various locations in HK Electric premises within Hong Kong Island or Lamma Island.
