Job Description:
(T26) The proposed staff shall be responsible for leading role of performing the IT infrastructure and server farm upgrade, site preparation for various locations and IT security implementation for the project of iCRMS and IT Infrastructure. The tasks include, but not limited to, the followings:
(a) Work with the Architectural Services Department (ArchSD) & the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) on any site preparation planning work for the Integrated Custodial and Rehabilitation Management System (iCRMS) and IT Infrastructure and the relocation of iCRMS;
(b) Conduct technology research on IT products / solutions such as RFID and mobile technology, wireless network solution, server farm and IT system architecture for the iCRMS and IT Infrastructure; including cost and benefits analysis;
(c) Prepare technical specifications of the related IT procurement for the iCRMS relocation and the maintenance of iCRMS and IT Infrastructure;
(d) perform infrastructure design and implementation in relation to server farm, storage, network, system management and site preparation;
(e) Support the setup of new IT Infrastructure and server farm, together with its integration of the existing CSD&;#8217;s network infrastructure in compliance with the governments IT security policy and standards;
(f) analyse and propose the requirements of the IT facilities of data centres and general office;
(g) Provide IT advice in respect of information technology standards and best practices;
(h) resolving project problems and conflicts, monitoring the performance of outsource contractors;
(i) Carry out testing, site deployment and maintenance activities at correctional institutions; and
(j) Carry out any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirement Details:
(1) The proposed staff must have working experience in:
(a) high availability network infrastructure design and implementation;
(b) server farm, system and network management, hands-on and professional competency on VMware and vCenter is a must;
(c) site preparation; and
(d) IT products and services procurement.
(2) Good communication skills
(3) Good command of Chinese and English
(4) Self-motivated, independent, diligent, polite, pro-active, fast learning and good team player.
(5) Working at remote correctional facilities for provision of support services as and when required.
(6) Undergoing integrity check by HKPF is required.
