BID ref: 61074-1
Department:
DPO
Job nature:
(T26) We are looking for six passionate and committed Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineers for the newly formed team (the Team) under the Digital Policy Office (DPO) to help design and build prototypes for Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) smart government solutions on a centralised government AI infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
(T26) Led by the AI Solutions Lead of the Team, you will be a hands-on builder focused on speed and experimentation. You will leverage the Government's central AI infrastructure to spin up working functional proof-of-concept prototypes for bureaux/departments (B/Ds) to solve real business problems. Key responsibilities -
1. Partner closely with B/Ds to understand their daily operational workflows, bottlenecks and pain points, and translate business requirements into high impact and scalable GenAI, workflow automation or other AI use cases.
2. Guide B/Ds through the transition from traditional workflows to AI-enabled concepts, managing local resistance and aligning stakeholders with executive showcase narratives.
3. Build functional GenAI workflows, agentic loops, knowledge assistants, chatbots and internal dashboards using tools such as Work Buddy, Open WebUI, Dify, n8n, RAGFlow and Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) platforms backed by advanced open-source models (e.g. DeepSeek, Qwen), paired with lightweight front-end interfaces and chat windows, to rapidly prototype solutions and address core business pain points.
4. Design, test and refine system prompts, few-shot examples and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions to maximise output accuracy and minimise hallucinations.
5. Seamlessly integrate B/Ds' data pipelines with the Government's central AI infrastructure and application programme interfaces (APIs).
6. Prepare user guides, prompt templates, reusable workflows and relevant technical documentations and conduct briefings/trainings to business and technical users from B/Ds for change management and knowledge transfer.
7. Quickly pivot and modify prototypes based on live feedback from B/Ds and/or other stakeholders.
Requirements:
1. At least three years' post-qualification experience in system implementation, application development, workflow automation, digital transformation, technical consulting or system administration, of which at least one year must be in a similar post or comparable capacity.
2. Sound knowledge of GenAI, large language models (LLMs), APIs and prompt engineering.
3. Hands-on experience in configuring, implementing or supporting information technology systems or digital tools.
4. Good analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Proactive attitude, strong learning ability and keen interest in emerging GenAI technologies.
6. Ability to work closely with non-technical users and deliver practical solutions within a short timeframe.
7. Committed to execution and delivery.
8. Experience in any of the following aspects would be advantage -
(a) Open WebUI, Dify, n8n, RAGFlow or Work Buddy
(b) DeepSeek, Qwen or other LLMs
(c) RAG, vector databases or knowledge management
(d) APIs, databases, Linux, Docker or cloud platforms
(e) Python, JavaScript, SQL or other programming languages
(f) AI agents, browser automation or desktop automation
