(T26) IT operations support services in server rooms.

Responsibilities:
(T26) The Judiciary has more than 2,600 PCs and servers, on Unix, Linux and MS Windows, spinning over 15 buildings and being accessed by 50 Government departments. In order to provide a quality service to both Judiciary users and other parties, a stable and secure IT network and infrastructure performance are required. The Judiciary has implemented more than 50 information systems to support the daily operations. These information systems cover in-house applications for different court levels, office automation utilities such as e-mail, Internet access, websites as well as government wide applications (such as e-Leave, e-Payroll, Departmental Portal, etc.). All application and database servers are mainly housed in two server rooms of the Judiciary at two court buildings, namely, High Courts Building and West Kowloon Law Courts Building. High availability provisions for the essential information systems are equipped with between these two server rooms, such that for each concerned information system one server room will be acted as the production site while the other server room will be acted as the resilience site. The successful candidate is required to:
1) Perform IT operational tasks including system backup, off-site storage of backup tapes, batch jobs monitoring, and system alerts monitoring on the IT equipment in the server rooms.
2) Maintain and monitor the environmental facilities for the server rooms, including UPS, air-conditioning units and fire suppression and protection system.
3) Maintain inventory of IT equipment, media and consumables.
4) Conduct routine inspection to the server rooms and escalate to appropriate parties if fault is discovered.
5) Assist in general administration, access control and maintenance services on IT equipment and environmental facilities for the server rooms.
6) Identify and atteand to staff's training and coaching to enable them to meet job needs.
7) Act as shift leader to handle normal duties and ad-hoc incident

Requirements:
The successful candidate is required to work in shift and work outside the office hours of the Judiciary, if needed. At least three years working experience in server room operations. It is highly desirable that the candidate has practical experience in the control room and operations of IT systems. Successful candidate will be required to work at West Kowloon Law Courts Building and High Courts Building intermittently subject to operational need.
